Hey in this country we are fat adverse but yet we are super overweight as a nation. We have low or no fat milk, cheese, pizza, ice cream, and every other kind of food. Overweight is really a multi factorial problem. We eat too many processed foods and drinks for starters. Plus, we are toxic. The body uses fat to hide these toxins so they don't kill us. Another problem is many folks have low thyroid function from all the toxins in our bodies. Fluoride has also been implicated in low thyroid function.
Anther problem may actually be we are not getting the right kind of fats. Not all fats are bad. We need em.
My favorite fat is actually coconut oil. Coconut oil you say? Yep, you bet!
We are not talking the same stuff that got a bad rap in the 80s for heart disease. That was the hydrogenated stuff and it will kill you. It was used on popcorn in movie theatres. Remember? Stuff tasted great.
The real deal coconut is the raw virgin organic stuff. It is loaded with a very super healthy saturated fat. This middle chain fatty acid actually stimulates the metabolism and causes the body to burn fat. It really is incredible stuff.
Coconut oil also contains something called lauric acid which is also found in breast milk. Lauric acid has been found to sooth digestion and fight critters in the GI.
Coconut is also great to cook with too. It is the most stable oil at high temps so it doesn't oxidize and break down like olive oil.
Where do you get it? Straight up coconut oil can be found at health food stores or on the internet. Locally here in northern VA you can get it at Wegmans, Whole Foods, and Vitamin Shoppe. You can also eat coconut milk and that contains some of the oil as well.
How do you use it? Coconut can be put in smoothies or in your cereal. It does solidify at higher temps so you may need to warm the bottle in hot water. Or, just put it in your smoothie. It will blend with the other fluids. You can also eat by the spoonful.
It is great on your skin too! I use it to prep my face for shaving. I use a dab of coconut oil and then put on my organic shaving creme.

Also, it is a key nutrient so it fits there. It also affect 4 in improving digestion. And, when you loose those unwanted pounds you will feel better about you and your emotional balance improves!
